Longney C of E Primary SchoolStaff and Governors work hard to ensure pupils experience a positive, caring environment throughout their time at Longney. High expectations both in achievement and behaviour are maintained in order that each child reaches their potential. We believe that education of the whole child is essential and endeavour to provide a wide range of activities that enrich learning and give experience of the wider world. Sport and music play a prominent role in our school and allow pupils to gain confidence and self-discipline in a range of situations. The village school was founded in 1862 and its main building comprises a hall, kitchen/servery, library and two classrooms with two further classrooms at the back of the main building. There is also a large grassed area with football pitch, long jump pit, conservation area, adventure playground and a playground at the front of the school. The Head Teacher of Longney School is Ms Penny Howard. The school has it's own website which can be accessed here: http://www.longney.gloucs.sch.uk
Summer fete, beer festival and bonfire night are just a few of the community events that the Friends of Longney school organise through out the year.
