Meet the Councillors

The Parish Council meets at 7.30, usually the second Monday of the months of January, March, May, July, September and November, in the school hall.  Villagers are always welcome to come and give their opinions or bring something to the attention of the councillors.

Rebecca Christian

Address: Windrush Cottage, Longney since December 2009. Family: Partner Nathan Mills and two sons George and Edward. Occupation: Accountant Likes: The local countryside, gardening, running, good food and good home brewed beer. Dislikes: speeding – it is selfish – let’s share our roads! Current responsibilities: Keeping the website up to date and the village newsletter.

Roger Godwin

Address: Yew Tree Farm, Longney since 1979 Occupation: Farmer Likes: Sustainable communities, wildlife, gardening and sport. Current responsibilities: Chairman of the Parish Council and Governor at Longney C of E school

Jonathan Harvie

Address: Vicarage House, Longney since April 1989. Family: Married to Tricia since 1975. We have two “children”, Jamie and Hattie. Occupation: Retired in 2009 having worked since 1980 with Hazlewoods, a Gloucestershire based firm of Chartered Accountants. I help two charities, Barnwood Trust which helps those with disabilities living in Gloucestershire and Young Gloucestershire. YG helps supports young people to achieve their potential. It does this through providing education, training and social opportunities to young people across Gloucestershire Likes: The local countryside, gardening, walking, music, occasional golf. Dislikes: litter – it’s spoils our parish and is unnecessary! Current responsibilities: Litter “czar”, Joint Footpaths officer, Deputy Snow Warden

Andy Russell

Address: Severn View, Epney since 2013 Current responsibilities: Joint Footpaths officer.

Graham Wingrove

Occupation: Accountant Graham Wingrove has lived in the village with his family for over 10 years. He strongly believes in the community ethos and wants to contribute to improving the villages for the local population. He has been a member of the Parish Council since May 2014 and has specific responsibilities for all matters regarding the roads in the villages, is a member of the Planning Application Sub-Committee and has been elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Parish Council. He is also a Governor of Longney Church of England Primary School.  

Parish Council Clerk - Nikki Leach

Address: Churchend Barn, Longney since 1978 Occupation: Researcher Likes: Horses. Current responsibilities: Clerk to the Parish Council I grew up in the village of Longney and went to Longney Primary School.  I am now married with 2 little girls, Freya who is 4 and Emmy who is 3.  We live in Longney next to the chapel and Freya started at Longney School in September this year so we are keeping the generations going!  I work full time so spare time is very limited but when I get the chance I can be found around the lanes and fields on my horse, or having a family outing with the girls and their ponies (and the dog!).
